Section A – (60% Practical Marks)


1.    Determine Resistance of wire by Slide Wire Bridge.

        Key Questions:

  • Factor affecting the resistance of slide wire bridge.
  • Plot graph (if required).
  • Calculate using relevant formula (𝑅 = 𝜌 𝐿 𝐴 ).

2.    Determine internal resistance of a cell using potentiometer.

        Key Questions: 

  • Purpose of Potentiometer. 
  • Difference Between Load and Internal Resistance. 
  • Plot graph (if required). Calculate using relevant formula (𝑟 = 𝜀−𝑉 𝐼 ).

3.    Determine e.m.f of a cell using potentiometer. 

        Key Questions: 

  • How emf is different from potential difference 
  • Plot graph (if required). 
  • Calculate using relevant formula (𝜀 = 𝑉 + 𝐼𝑟).

4.    Determine the e.m.f and internal resistance of a cell by plotting V against I graph.

        Key Questions: 

  • What is the relation between emf and internal resistance. 
  • Plot graph (if required). 
  • Calculate using relevant formula (𝜀 = 𝑉 + 𝐼𝑟).
5.    Determine resistance of voltmeter by drawing graph between R and I/V.

Key Questions: 

  • Voltmeter and Galvanometer. 
  • Combination of Resistance with Galvanometer. 
  • Plot graph (if required). 
  • Calculate using relevant formula (𝑅ℎ = 𝑉 / 𝐼𝑔 − 𝑅𝑔)

6.    Determine the relation between current and capacitance when different capacitors are used in AC circuit

  • Series and Parallel combination of capacitors. 
  • Current and Voltage in Series and Parallel circuits. 
  • Plot graph (if required).

Section B – (40% Practical Marks)


1.   Determine time constant by charging and discharging a capacitor through a resistor. 

Key Questions: 

  • Application of time constant. 
  • Factor affecting time constant. 
  • Plot graph (if required). 
  • Calculate using relevant formula (𝜏 = 𝑅𝐶).

2.    Investigate the relationship between current and the potential applied Tungsten Filament Bulb. 

Key Questions: 

  • Ohm’s Law and Tungsten Filament Bulb. 
  • Joule’s Law. 
  • Plot graph (if required). 
  • Calculate using relevant formula (V=IR, 𝐻 = 𝐼2𝑅𝑇).

3.     Characteristics of semiconductor diode and forward and reverse current resistances.

  • Intrinsic & Extrinsic Semiconductors. 
  • Forward and Reverse Bias Circuits. 
  • Plot graph (if required). 
  • Understand the relevant Circuits and Diagrams.

4.    Variation of electric current with intensity of light using a Photocell.
